A private pool with a canopy and pergola creates a new ‘garden room’ at the back of the garden. The wooden structure gets a soft blue color. This combines nicely with the greenery of the garden.

IN between is a minimal residence designed by Belgium-based architect Atelier Janda Vanderghote. Once a small concrete plant, it now forms 6 housing units that surround a communal courtyard.

A row house with a gable roof is located a tram length from the stop. An old entrance gate shows a new layout with a wide sweep. A sliding glass door enlarges and/or reduces the interior space. The anteroom is the open ‘sound box’ of the music room. The gable roof conceals a skylight that indirectly illuminates the stairs and void.

An old brewery is being converted into a home. The plot in question is part of an inner area that is in the full development of a family home infringement project. The shed roofs are broken down. The existing concrete structure becomes the blueprint for the new plan.

B&B ‘entrenous’ / Atelier Janda Vanderghote

The bed and breakfast “entrenous” is located next to the Citadel Park.
The historic house was converted into a house with three guest rooms.
The façade was restored respectfully to its former glory. The inside has been thoroughly renovated, but a link with the existing layout or structure is never far away.
