In the place there was a housing building from the beginning of the 20th century, with a strong cultural identity and which, through visits to the place, we understand as part of the collective memory of the residents of Rua Arriaga. The developer expected the construction of his family home and the project should include three bedrooms, a living room with access to the outside, a garden with a water tank and a garage area for three cars, one of which collection.

In the existing plot there was a small two-storey building, which before housed two housing units, without constructive, material and spatial quality . The project initial premise was the total demolition of the existing building and its replacement by a new one, with the same implantation and new volume, taking advantage of the average height of the street.

From the existing plot, there was an access garden, a degraded two stories house, and a backyard garden. The project had as the main goal the requalification of the existing house and its expansion, through not only a new implantation and back facade design, as well as the optimization of the roof morphology for a new attic area. In order to promote the new functional program and get a better spatiality, it ran a total reorganization of interior layouts of the ground and upper floors. Through the rise of the existing ridge quota and the volumetry of the roof, the house was offered a new attic area with a great connection with the surrounding, through a terrace. The front facade remained unchanged.

From the existing plot, there was a sunny playground with two paved grounds and several playground equipments. The project had the main goal of qualifying the playground, by offering a significant area of shade, so essential to the permanence of both children and parents in the park during summer months.

Requalification and expansion project of an existing house, set in belém neighborhood, in Lisbon, Portugal. In the existing plot, there was a one store house, a backyard and the ruins of an old warehouse. The project had the main goal of rehabilitating the existing house and expanding its total area through the addition of an upper floor.
