The building on the edge of the forest of Minden an der Sauer stood empty for many years. Externally exposed to decay, its former use was still readable inside: a stable with a feeder on the ground floor and the large hay storage with signs of installation of a micro-apartment on the upper floor.

The +Energy House is located in the wine community Kasel, in the Ruwer valley, and repeats the two storey with a gable roof structure in the village. Currently it is used as an office, but can be converted to a home when needed. The elongated structure was built with solid wood construction on a concrete floor slab. All structural and partition walls are made of solid wood plate elements, which remain undisguised in the interior, where an ivory-colored glaze applied to the walls and ceillings reveals the texture of the wood structure.

The +Energy House lies down as a flat structure on the sloping site and forms at the upper floor a platform that connects inside and outside together and offers a magnificent view of the countryside. The formal language acts independently and confidently. Simultaneously, the two-storey construction comunicates with the surroundings of the street (building line, roof shape, eaves height).
