Nash Tiny House serves as a weekend home for a couple while visiting their daughter in college. The house is located on unused family property outside of Starkville, MS, and is sited in the exact location as a fishing trailer that belonged to the client’s father. This location takes advantage of a natural clearing in the pines and offers western views of the pond.

Ballet Memphis had outgrown its current space and wished to move to a thriving performance arts district in the heart of the city with a one-of-a-kind facility. The company’s new home opens up to the community with large windows and public courtyards between the studios. The two-story building houses practice space for Ballet Memphis’ professional company and classrooms for youth and community dance instruction. The building is intended to engage the public in dance, movement, wellness, self-discovery, and connection.

A faith-based, non-profit organization required a new space for recruitment, training, and supporting teachers through an urban teacher residency graduate program. Their new space is positioned between a public, large central atrium and more intimate atrium of a multi-million square foot vertical village (previously a large distribution warehouse). Their new home is made up of three functions: staff offices, flexible training rooms, and community areas for breaks and collaboration. The space is also open to a large private terrace with outdoor seating for small meetings or to recharge throughout the day.

The design strategy uses minimal gestures with a natural material pallet allowing the restaurant’s signage and the menu of raw, whole foods provide the only color within the space. As a relief to the massive scale of the existing building, the restaurant offers a variety of more intimate conditions with the enclosed booth seating, expansive community table, four-top tables, bar seating, and two-top tables in the corridor.

The historic governor’s mansion in Nashville, Tennessee, was in dire need of an expansion to accommodate the various events hosted on the grounds. To preserve the prominence of the historic residence, archimania designed an "unbuilding," placing the event and support spaces underground, rather than off to the side of the existing residence.

Memphis Veterinary Specialists (MVS) is a referral-based veterinary practice with expertise in emergency surgery, exotic animals, orthopedics, oncology, dermatology, dentistry, and diagnostic treatment. The practice had outgrownits location in a retail shopping center and needed a freestanding building for their growing practice. Continuous 24-7 treatment and care for animal patients created programmatic needs that are very similar to a human hospital, including: treatment, surgery, specialty procedure rooms, recovery, and intensive care areas.

In downtown Memphis, a celebrated mid-century modern building was facing demolition. From 1974 to 1999 it had housed a progressive bank, but had been abandoned. A young music college was seeking a new home in an urban context. The music college wanted a look that was to be vibrant, fresh, and exciting for students and teachers, but the required functional spaces were quite different than that of the bank.
