Binome stands as a bold project offering a contemporary and sensitive approach to urban densification. Unique in its kind, this five-unit residential building provides an enriched living experience through thoughtful architectural quality and respectful integration into its context. The clients—owners of a vacant lot between their duplex and a multi-unit building—envisioned a forward-thinking infill project: to offer high-quality collective housing that would promote cohabitation and intergenerational diversity within the neighborhood. "We dreamed of a building with a different kind of architecture—made up of two volumes and a central courtyard—allowing for more housing, ideally affordable", Sarah-Jeanne Labrosse, co-owner of Binome.

Les Voisines Chalet / APPAREIL architecture

Made up of three interconnected houses, Les Voisines proposes a novel living and rental space that reinvents the boundaries between shared and private space. An invitation to experience the rental home of the future. Located in Austin in the Eastern Townships, the project is a collaboration with the client, Lysanne Pépin of the Maison Pépin boutique, who designed the interior while APPAREIL signed the architectural envelope, which balances tradition and modernity.

Grand-Pic Chalet / APPAREIL architecture

Inspired by traditional shapes and the surrounding nature, the chalet design is a unique architecture tailor-made for its residents. The owners wanted a warm space, fit to host family and friends, in harmony with the environment, a space that breathes fresh air and replenishment. The GRAND PIC cottage offers, through simplicity and sober physicality, a unique experience of symbiosis between nature and architecture.

Waterloo Residence / APPAREIL architecture

For this project, the APPAREIL Architecture team received the mandate to design an extension for a family home and renovate its shared spaces. Heeding a desire for harmony between the new intervention and the pre-existing architecture, the result inscribes itself into a clean aesthetic with Nordic influences. The Ville Mont-Royal house contained an out-of-date sunroom, which was available for use during only one season. Working in close collaboration with the owners, APPAREIL Architecture designed a new annex which allows optimization of natural light and an improvement of living spaces’ quality.

Design of the offices for a Montreal-based film production company with the goal to create a bright, functional and well-planned interior that stimulates creativity. The firm designed a versatile central work area surrounded by individual spaces. The place has a clean, warm and unique, and distinguishes itself through the simplicity of its materials. Plywood panels and steel work perfectly with the white walls and ceilings, while giving a slight industrial touch.
