The HTL Bau & Design school complex comprises one main building to the north and workshops to the south. The site is flanked by the very busy Bachlechnerstraße to the east and a large commercial building to the west. The single-story, compact extension adds a floor to the teaching and administrative wing, blending perfectly and naturally into the rest of the complex while adding a distinct new dimension to the main building.

The existing situation with the highly vertically structured building was upgraded to add a significant volume at the south eastern building corner, calming the building structure and also tangibly increasing the presence of the school in the context of the village through its aesthetics. The existing colors and materials were referenced, and the scale and suitability were maintained.

Haus Welser is located on a tree-lined hill in the heart of Mutters – a small town perched high above Innsbruck (Tyrol, Austria). The site’s special location offers a clear view over the neighbouring properties to the “Nordkette”, or northern chain of mountains in the Karwendel Range. The vast Wipptal Valley opens up to the south, towards the Brenner Pass, allowing extensive sunshine all day.

Three station buildings for one ropeway means three starkly different topographies at a great vertical and horizontal physical distance (none of the other buildings can be seen from any of the three buildings). Accordingly, three different typologies are being developed from the respective location and corresponding function. Riding the ropeway makes their combination to a whole tangible, as do the cabins attached to the cables to a certain extent.

On the one hand the difficult, long and narrow layout of the plot along with its exposure directly at the municipal road, on the other hand the incorporation of both a residential house and a commercial space into a homogenous building structure.

Designed as a chapel in memoriam of companions of Dr. Heinrich Klier and situated directly on a ridge in the Schaufeljoch region, this raw concrete and steel building displays the elements of a chapel reduced to its classical shape and thus creates a space of calm, contemplation and remembrance in the midst of a lively ski circuit.

In order to establish a large enough flat surface area for the equestrian facility, the pre-existing slope has been divided into several terraces. These terraces provide the necessary surface area required by each independent structure, such as the indoor riding arena, the stables, the open space, the kids club, the operator's apartment, and subsequently trail away into the open country. Objects such as stables and the adjoining building are incorporated into these intersecting lines, which manifest themselves as batter and supporting wall, whereas the indoor riding arena and the gallery of the open space rest on the landscape.
