Sited on a 3,000 m² (approx. 32,300 sq ft) lot in a gated community in the countryside of São Paulo, the VR04 Residence was designed to meet the client's request for a single-level home. Part of the program is distributed along a large longitudinal pavilion, characterized by two exposed concrete slabs (floor and roof). The lower slab is elevated 40 cm (1.3 feet) off the ground, emphasizing a simple layout with minimal intervention on the terrain. The upper slab, supported by two large inverted beams, highlights the horizontal lines of the residence and dialogues with the floor slab as two large planes of exposed concrete.
