The rural pircas, so characteristic of the mountain landscape of Córdoba, have the function of enclosing or limiting a piece of land. In this case, they delimit a space of use, some ensuite rooms as an expansion of a hotel. The place in question corresponds to the former summer stay of former Argentine president J.A. Roca transformed into a hotel.

The project involves building a large house while preserving the existing trees on the lot. The almost 2500m2 lot hosts a lush native forest, has an irregular geometry, and is wide with a narrow front towards the street. The house is implanted at the bottom of the lot allowing the opening of its spaces towards the best orientation and towards the forest.

Located in a quarry area in the town of Unquillo, the land has numerous outcrops of stone that print the landscape a unique feature. The strategy consists of relating to this particularity by incorporating two important outcrops forming part of the domestic and intimate landscape of the house. The work is located in an area immersed in a privileged natural environment but with the particularity of being very close to a path of high transit that inevitably pollutes his experience. The house is projected and expands toward the west by a podium taking advantage of the visual of the lake and to the east, incorporating a courtyard which contains not only organizes the main income but also allows better ventilation, lighting, and living of the public area annulling the contamination of the route.

Located in a suburb with a rugged topography on the outskirts of the city of Córdoba, SZ House is designed from the possibilities and limitations of these new subdivisions in suburban areas. In this sense, the terrain, whose condition was critical in the design strategy, presents a significant slope that crosses diagonally from south to north reaching the access road at its lowest point. The project is located on the upper level of the site with the aim of achieving a privileged domain of the landscape, orienting the spaces correctly guaranteeing a good sun exposure, and optimizing the free area of the site.
