The Art’otel Amsterdam recently opened its doors, this hotel and lifestyle venue blends design, art, and hospitality in a startling new way. Located opposite Amsterdam’s Central Station in a beautiful monumental office the Art’otel combines a unique architectural style with modern art inspired interiors. The transformation was the result of a collaboration of ADP architecten and Digital Space and provided the city centre with a new cultural hotspot.

The Corporate Campus Apeldoorn, designed by ADP Architects, contains two small pavilions tucked away in the forest. Two stand alone meeting rooms have been built as modern interpretations of a log cabin. The pavilions are designed as connecting knots in the comprehensive structure of pedestrian routes through the campus. They are an excellent place for brainstorm sessions, meetings or working quietly in a green environment. These meeting rooms are part of the new working concept in which employers are motivated to move around the campus: a healthy dynamic workspace in nature. When the meeting rooms in the forests turn out to be a success, 8 more of them can be build on the campus.

The logistics building, part of the overall design of the Corporate Campus Apeldoorn by ADP Architects, is strongly connected with its surroundings. The building appears to be a mountain pushed out of the soil. Both the logistics building and the forest are cut open on one side and placed together, creating a very strong relation between the interior of the building and the forest; making the forest part of the architecture. A 3m gap between the building and the edge of the forest makes the sun shine over the building deep into the forest. The reflection of the sun on the trees gives a special, warm appearance to the interior of the building.

ADP architects and SH Studio designed an extension to accommodate the new media library of a secondary school in Drachten (the Netherlands). The extension is located in a courtyard of the existing building of the school and carefully designed to maintain a good view from the surrounding classrooms on the first floor of the existing building. The roof of the extension is located on eye height when you are on the first floor, the sky is still in sight, but there is also a visual connection with the library on the ground floor.
