This upper level addition contains a family room, bathroom, and roof deck, but there was a fundamental issue with the location of this new family room area; it is located two levels above the living/dining/kitchen level of the home, thereby risking not being used on a day-to-day basis.

In May 2024, the floods that hit Rio Grande do Sul exposed a contradiction common to contemporary cities. Many were built alongside rivers and shaped by their presence, yet spent decades trying to control water without incorporating its dynamics into urban planning. Extreme weather events will intensify that vulnerability. More than two years later, reconstruction in the Brazilian state has progressed, infrastructure has been restored, and new protection strategies are taking shape. But are these cities rebuilding their relationship with water, or only restoring the systems that failed?

The fourth edition, held from October 2 to 17, 2026, marked a new chapter for the event, with architects Sarah Hejazin and Bisher Tabbaa, founders of the architecture and design practice FADAA, serving as co-directors. Their appointment also brought their research-driven approach to the event's broader program, which explored the relationships between daily practices, cultural memories, and material environments. During the event, we had the opportunity to speak with Sarah Hejazin and Bisher Tabbaa about the thinking behind this year's theme, their approach to material investigations, and how practicing in Jordan informs their work across architecture, objects, and public space.

AC Milan and FC Internazionale Milano (Inter) have unveiled the design for Generali Stadium, a 71,500-seat venue planned to become the shared home of the two football clubs in Milan, Italy. Designed by Foster + Partners and MANICA, the new stadium will be built alongside the existing San Siro as part of a 281,000-square-meter redevelopment of the surrounding area. The project follows years of discussions over the future of the historic venue, which the clubs acquired in 2025 with the intention of replacing it. Construction is expected to begin in 2028, with the stadium scheduled to host its first match during the 2031/32 season, subject to planning approvals.

Gardens, terraces, and porches are transforming into spaces where cooking and, above all, entertaining can take place without having to step inside. In addition to offering convenience, this solution increases property value and responds to a lifestyle that is increasingly connected to the outdoors.

Situated on a hill rising from the lakeside town, this residence was planned for a single owner. The home was designed to incorporate the lake view as part of daily life. When hearing "a home for a single occupant", people typically imagine a compact house. Yet, living alone is not simply about having fewer residents. Without the need for family-oriented layouts or shared spaces, the house can be conceived with the individual as the base unit, starting from physical perception and rhythm of life.

SE House stands as a quiet manifesto for tropical living, conceived as an urban oasis that reinterprets Australian-inspired design for Surabaya's vibrant context. Anchored by a courtyard that reflects the owner's attentiveness to landscape, the residence embodies natural sensibilities through design choices that promote airflow, permeability, and daily connection to foliage inside and out. Its philosophy is subtle yet deliberate, expressed through materiality and spatial choreography rather than overt displays of greenery.

Set in the city of gold, Dubai, this villa was one of the most challenging projects considering the diverse architectural languages that the city follows. Be it the towering skyscrapers, extremely modern boxed structures, or ornate villas, the city sees a lot in spatial expression. Various themes were scrapped, and many ideas were renegotiated till we found a form that very closely mirrors desert architecture.
