Tømmertempelet/Timber Temple sits on a sloping site in Sinnes, Sirdal — a mountain settlement in Agder, Norway. At the time of the project, readymade cabins in an artificially traditional style were being erected throughout the area. The cabin was designed in response: a contemporary reinterpretation of the heavy, sedimentary stacking of traditional Norwegian timber buildings — the stabbur and the loft — while maintaining a sharp, contemporary line.

While designing an urban park near the sea in Praia Norte, Viana do Castelo, we were invited to create a small chapel. The site already featured a humble, glass-fronted oratory built by local residents, which was originally slated for demolition. However, given the community's strong connection to the structure—and their devotion to Saint Peter, the patron saint of fishermen—we felt it was essential to preserve its symbolic value.

The commission came to us unexpectedly, after the client discarded a project they had started to build that same year. From this first attempt, they kept a steel platform on pile foundations, which provided us with a forced starting point for the project's position, which, by the way, was quite good, in a natural clearing of the forest, strategically surrounded by a meander of the Cautín River, with excellent views and sunlight.

On a rocky outcrop overlooking Lake Memphremagog, two blocks of wood gently harmonize with their surroundings. Two rectangular volumes, one laid atop the other, form a house. The first block resembles a bridge between two plateaux, straddling a natural gully that continues to drain runoff from heavy rains.

This house was designed for a young filmmaker who wanted spacious areas without sacrificing privacy, all on a controlled budget. Situated on a charming and tiny street in the Pinheiros neighborhood, the building was designed as an exercise in spatial optimization and cost reduction. Within a narrow lot measuring 5 meters wide by 25 meters deep, a comfortable and spacious home was developed.

As Beck Family Estates' first winery developed outside of South Africa, Abbott Claim is a thoughtful expression in the built form of the rolling hills and beauty of the Yamhill-Carlton region. The project features custom elements such as a living roof, a semi-circular barrel cellar, and an underground wine library lit from an oculus above. Large canopies provide weather protection and screening for the crush pad and mobile bottling line.
