The Agronomy Workshop is located on an irregular plot of land in the west, covering about 300m², adjacent to a small pond. Due to the field ridges and roads, there is a long "little tail" of the red line, which will be used as agricultural research laboratory land. The shape of this plot is very special, as the field ridges cut through its interior, further dividing the irregular plot into two halves by the farm roads. Therefore, I thought it would be better to utilize this small road that runs through the area, allowing the building space, surrounding fields, paths, and landscape to become even more "entangled."

LYCS Architecture has released designs for Hangzhou NO.2 School of Future Sci-Tech City, a kindergarten, primary and secondary school complex in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China. Encompassing 44,900 square meters, the design takes inspiration from a child’s drawing of his ideal school – a small town filled with child-scaled spaces and “happy” streets. The complex is broken up into 15 gabled volumes, which gradually increase in size and scale to accommodate the range of student ages.

Coinciding with their tenth anniversary of the Royal Danish Opera, Henning Larsen Architects has unveiled plans for a new Chinese Opera house in Yuhang. The project, sited in “the middle of a lake, on display to the entire city,” will serve as the centerpiece of an expansive new cultural district north of Hangzhou. It’s design, described by Henning Larsen to be more “playful” than the Copenhagen Opera, will feature a unique geometric facade and sloping roof, backdropped by a waterfront recreational park.
