Yano House was designed on a lot measuring 10 meters in width by 44 meters in length. The architectural approach is based on the arrangement of nine reinforced concrete porticoes, which span the shorter cross-section of the site. These porticoes have their columns embedded within the masonry of the side boundary walls, while the upper beams, which remain exposed, also serve as support for the roofing system. There are no exposed columns in either the interior or exterior spaces.

The project dealt with one of the building's largest apartments, the result of the merging of two neighboring units in block D, each with three bedrooms originally. An initial requirement for the job was to completely eliminate the dividing wall between the two living rooms — even though the apartments were already combined, there was only one small opening between the mirrored floor plans. Additionally, the walls of the two bedrooms adjoining the living rooms were partially demolished, creating a 24-meter-long social area with a clear and curved façade along the brise-soleil. As it is a high floor, it is possible to enjoy a wide-angle view of the city with the Serra da Cantareira in the distance. The mirror on the wall of the central circulation area, opposing the façade, invites the eye to find new vanishing points in the vast urban landscape.

Measuring just 5.6 meters wide by 20 meters long, the plot houses an architecture office and a multipurpose hall. The spatial constraints demanded not only the compression of functions but also a tight articulation between constructive and architectural solutions scaled to the intervention. The building, with its discreet facade and lack of expressive gestures, clearly expresses the intention to create an austere, silent, and contemplative space using the minimum necessary elements.

Apartment CB is an exercise in spatial reorganization that transforms building pathologies into opportunities for conscious design. The intervention investigates the relationship between matter, light, and shadow through the choice of materials and elements used—metalwork as planes of interruption and visual continuity, terrazzo as a surface of contrast and continuity between internal and external environments, and fabrics, brick, and glass to integrate with the built environment—in which the perception of space changes throughout the day.

The Prudência building, a massive residential slab of 10 floors, was designed and constructed between 1944 and 1948. It is a highly emblematic and representative piece of architecture, as it is one of the first modern vertical buildings in the Higienópolis neighborhood.
