The building is located on a plot close to the urban center of Sant Esteve de Palautordera, near the Montseny Natural Park. Despite being in a privileged environment, the urban conditions of the area allow for little separation between homes, and the developers request a single-story construction.

The Oratge House is a project designed for a young family who decided to move from the city to Montseny mountain in search of peace and contact with nature. The building is located at the northwestern end of the property, leaving the southeastern part as free as possible in order to take advantage of sunlight and views of the forest. Despite its compact appearance, the house establishes a permeable relationship with the outside, since the main common areas are arranged longitudinally, each with direct access to the garden. On the upper floor are the most private spaces of the house, including bedrooms, a bathroom, a second studio and a laundry room.

The town council of Sant Esteve de Palautordera decided to give up the football pitch in the sports area to make way for a new multi-purpose covered space to accommodate all the needs of its growing social fabric. The plot, located at one end of the municipality, was divided into three terraces or platforms occupied by a road at the top, a children's playground in the middle and a football pitch separated by an inaccessible slope acting as an urban "cul de sac".

From Dance Hall to House Transformation / estudi marmar

The project transforms the town’s old dance hall– later used as commercial premises– into a 4-apartment building. The site is in the old town’s Mayor Street of Sant Esteve de Palautordera, a pedestrian area next to the village’s main commercial street (Carretera de Montseny), which is part of a residential fabric of buildings between party walls.

The project consists on the extension of an existing weekend house near the village of Sant Esteve de Palautordera, one hour north from Barcelona. The existing house had been enlarged with small additions after its completion, but the new room program almost doubled the original surface of the house, and therefore, the new construction couldn´t be understood as one more new volume added to the original. The strategy, from the very beginning, was to treat the overall project as a “dancing couple”, where every part has its own role while dancing the same song.
