Inspired by vernacular architecture, the project highlights natural materials such as wood and stone, paired with contemporary concrete. The horizontality of the composition respects the scale of the landscape and enhances the views, promoting a subtle integration with the terrain.

Ibinamoa, in Tupi Guarani, means ‘the place of the stranger’. The client, indeed, is a native of Scotland, and one with a particular attachment to his collection of books. The project was therefore inspired to design a floor-to-ceiling library to lead from the upper terrace to his office, which affords a breath-taking view of the Mantiqueira mountain range.

The residence located in the municipality of Piracaia develops from a crop on a large plot of 36.600 m² with constant inclination of 13%, allowing the insertion of one foundation in concrete that houses the garage, services and technical areas.
