The South Korean city of Paju has grown through high-density residential developments, resulting in a generic periphery often lacking quality public spaces. It is within this context that the new Care and Wellness Center for the elderly and people with disabilities is situated. Instead of the two separate buildings requested in the competition, we opted for a unified, compact, and porous design that allows the adjacent metropolitan park to flow through the building. This creates an internal public void that reinterprets the Korean madang, a kind of courtyard with a communal purpose, as a place for meeting and relaxation. It naturally separates the various programs, reinforces the connection with the park, and creates an environmental oasis within the dense urban fabric.

Following Suwon, the second location—STREAM EYEWEAR Unjeong—breaks away from the conventional image of an "optical shop," redefines STREAM's brand presence, and unfolds with a narrative unique to Unjeong.

Non-organic structures preserve their form by resisting external influences, whereas organic structures gain vitality by adapting to and interacting with their environment. The process of embracing differences and engaging with others fosters creativity while shaping subtle boundaries that respond to relationships and urban demands.

Zip Cinema is a premier film studio in Korea known for an extensive list of blockbuster titles such as Jeon Woochi :The Taoist Wizard (2009), Cold Eyes (2013), and The Priests (2015) and they were working on a plan to build a new headquarters. First meeting with the client took off amicably as both parties were committed to the same goal: zip, which is the name of the studio and also means ‘house’ in Korean. However, decision by Zip Cinema, a studio that produced 10 movies in the last 10 years, to partner with a relatively new architecture firm with a decade of history may have been somewhat unexpected at first. Moving away from Gangnam, major commercial area of Seoul, and relocate its headquarter to Paju, Gyeonggi-do was a daring move for an up-and-coming movie studio.

The very quiet and remote area with the nature-surrounded site can be approached from a narrow single roadway. The client’s request was to design this building to be recognized as a new landmark within the limited budget; therefore, we suggested this place to be the venue for the gathering space to promote people’s activity and designed to reconcile with the surrounding nature. In the earlier stage, all the required spaces were set out to show the procedure, the process of the brewery in the design that included the bulky scale with the rigid rectangular form and the exposed interior.

The large park is sitting in the middle of a huge neighborhood with apartment complexes, two hours from Seoul metropolitan area. This unique type of construction is typical of Korean urban development—building and selling thousands of housing units at one time. Although this type of development contains potential negative side effects for the future, the landscape is more positively designed than the apartment complexes in preserving the natural wetland which is left as the original entity in the park.
