Loma Sagrada House transformed from a livestock-ravaged land to a regenerative construction project. This initiative uniquely improved the land, contrasting typical construction sites that often harm the environment. The construction preserved the soil integrity using minimal earth movement and pile work, enabling quick natural regeneration around the buildings. The project comprises several eco-friendly structures, with the main building perched on the southern hillside, shielded from harsh summer winds. A microclimate on the protected side, rich with vegetation, naturally moderates the building's internal temperature.

To think about how we inhabit is to think about architecture. If the primal need for shelter gave rise to the discipline, today, housing remains one of architects' most significant concerns. Providing comfort, seeking innovative materials, respecting memory, transforming culture - multiple layers intersect in a residence's design. Therefore, imagining the synthesis of the contemporary home is a great challenge. In search of new perspectives, we collaborated with Ulises Design Studio to understand how Artificial Intelligence (AI) perceives the contemporary home in the context of 15 different countries. Among data that touches on facts of reality and fiction, the pictures that emerge can bring inspiration and important reflections on spatial practice and the creation of its images.

The challenge when designing the building was how to create a pleasant and healthy workspace in this crisis caused by COVID-19. The pandemic made us question the way workspaces are typically built. Sometimes without considering the health benefits that natural ventilation and sunlight can bring. This ventilation and lighting concept sets the design guidelines that the team has been working on for years and it was an opportunity to apply it in this project.

The property is surrounded by primary tropical forests and presents a splendid ocean view. This house was designed by a couple of architects (Evangelina Quesada and Lucca Spendlingwimmer), who decided to move to the mountain with their two daughters to enjoy the tranquility that the mountain offers. Casa Guayacán was conceived under a deep process of discussion between both architects, with different ideas and tastes at times, but with the advantage that both architects are lovers of contemporary tropical architecture and in this respect they agreed and were able to capture the concepts they have developed in common throughout their professional careers.
