Concrete is often seen as the material of modernity, defined by its structural strength, raw finish, and unmistakable gray tone. It became the default palette of 20th-century architecture, a symbol of functionality and permanence. Yet, concrete is not bound to this chromatic identity. Its color is a byproduct of the cement, aggregates, and chemical composition used in its mix, and it can be intentionally altered through pigmentation. Among the many hues explored, red stands out — not only for its visual intensity, but for its ability to root buildings in place, evoke cultural references, and imbue architecture with a material presence that feels both elemental and expressive.

This is a building for a construction company, including an office and a workshop. Generally speaking, an office space seems to be created only for working. However, an office space is also a place to take a break, to communicate, and sometimes to welcome visitors. Because it is the place where we spend most of our time, I hope that it is a space that "enriches the mind" rather than a space that merely fulfills a function.

This house is the architect’s own house, which also includes the architecture office. So, the house is not only for private residence but also a visitable house by anybody. The site is located in a residential area between the city center and Dogo-Onsen (the oldest hot spring in Japan) in Matsuyama, Ehime.

This is a project for which a 23-year old graduate student did the preliminary design and design development. It is a work of collaboration created with local young architects and artisans. Matsuyama in Ehime Prefecture is a city known for Dogo Onsen. The area enjoys a mild climate thanks to the Seto Inland Sea, and with hot springs as a tourist resource, it is ranked as one of the most popular sightseeing destinations in Japan. Since 2014, art events have been held as part of the town revitalization strategy, and this facility was built for the 2019/ 2020 edition of the art project to provide a base for those activities. It is a small-scale, public architecture also used as a community hub.

So they have fewer chances to take exercises in daily life. An increasing number of children play with video games inside so that they also have fewer chances to find plays in variegated nature environment by themselves. In these situations, KO Kindergarten is rebuilt with the concept “Make Health from Playing”
