Starting the study for the preservation and restoration of a listed building in Limassol while trying to meet the needs of the family that would be the new inhabitants of this house, first, we proceed with demolitions to bring the building to its original form. In this way the inner courtyard is bigger, as it used to be in the past and it can be reached directly through the foyer (heliakos) of the listed building from the street. Also, sunlight is now reaching again the foyer and the two spaces on its two sides as well.

The key concept of the MV024 house design was to create a microclimate using the form of the structure itself and develop a bioclimatic design within the house as well as in the courtyard. The Architect considered bioclimatic design to be a priority in architecture. In order to achieve that, she emphasized the local climate and environment and researched and analyzed the site’s data and context - that are orientation, ground morphology, temperature, winds, and humidity.

The Concrete House @ Paniotis is a bespoke single family house located in the fairly dense suburban area of Paniotis in Limassol and stands in stark contrast to its adjoining properties. The linear plot afforded a longitudinal placement of the project; perpendicular to the narrower street façade. Although the plot is surrounded from pre-existing properties in close proximity, the project achieves organic fluidity between inside-outside, spatial permeability and the perception of openness. The arrangement of the house in the plot manipulates visual relationships with the adjoining properties and strategically hides and reveals parts.

The project was inspired by the idea of Mediterranean scenery admiration towards the olive grove, vineyards, clear blue sky, breezy south to north orientation and seasonally changes throughout the year. The land and its environment together with the uneven topography of the site are taken as the structural principals in developing the concept of the house. Our proposal enhances the aesthetic character of the countryside and uses our intervention to nature as a backdrop to view the Mediterranean scenery. We designed a simple, strong silhouette to provide the setting to frame and enjoy the surroundings. What particularly drew our attention was the linearity of the plantation surrounding the plot. It seemed as though nature was calling on us to follow the linearity model of the landscape and be part of its ecosystem.

The Gallery is a temporary lightweight structure on a site earmarked for future development. Its smooth geometry, a widening curve culminates in a large glazed front on to the sea, a gesture considered appropriate in trying to promote the positive aspects of the One Tower Project, for which it acts as the sales point. Resting lightly upon the site it is almost entirely constructed of reusable materials.

The luxury residence, located in Limassol, attracts attention with elegant proportion of intersected volumes. The variety of materials- white paint, fair face concrete, wood- highlights an architectural composition, that converges with the yard area. Playful unexpected division of the walls between the yard and the garage entry visually closes relax zone, at the same time it is see-through.
