Sited on a steep plot on the banks of one of the branches of the Ibiúna reservoir in the countryside of São Paulo, the CR JL House is born from a careful reading of the existing topography and landscape. The project starts from the understanding of the site's steep slope and the strong presence of water as structuring elements of the architectural proposal. From the beginning, the goal was to find a solution that not only adapted to the terrain but also utilized its characteristics to enhance the spatial and landscape potential. Designed for a young couple, the residence was built on the premise of accommodating transformations over time, which led to the adoption of a modular system capable of allowing future expansions in a coherent manner. Currently, the house features five suites, a direct result of this progressive growth strategy.

House CF, designed by Sandra Sayeg, was born from a genuine desire: that of a young family with two children seeking a countryside retreat that could combine warmth, togetherness, and functionality. The starting point was an existing house with a structure that was limited in relation to the extensive program of needs - five suites, a game room, gym, sauna, wine cellar, gourmet area, among others. The challenge was to enhance the existing architecture while expanding the spaces in a sensitive, coherent, and contemporary way.

The House of Trusses was the result of a renovation in a small country residence in the interior of São Paulo with a very lean budget. The main demands of the clients were a more open and fluid space and the desire to have 3 suites in the house - originally there were 3 bedrooms, but only one suite. The original plan already split the program into two distinct volumes separated by the entrance hall and an internal courtyard. On one side, the common areas and on the other, the bedrooms.

The stone house is on a plot of land with an almost square shape and a steep slope to the street. The solution was to bring the house as far to the front as possible and thus reduce the area occupied by the car access, freeing up land at the back for leisure and garden areas. The house was then located 3.5m below street level, which allows direct access from the ground floor to the garden and pool area. Large stones were removed from underground during the work, but the largest remained on the ground and can be seen from the living and dining areas.

The expansion of the Clara Resort in Ibiúna, Sao Paulo state, began in September 2019 with the challenge of creating a project that camouflages in the topography of the land and harmonizes with the existing buildings in the hotel. In an area of more than 20,000m² (65,617sq. ft.) in a privileged location of the land, 15,000m² (49,212sq. ft.) of built area were planned with new suites, swimming pool, restaurant, bar, games, bowling and a building dedicated to corporate and social events.

The Ibiuna country house, located 100km from the city of Sao Paulo, sits on a 17.000 m2 plot facing a large reservoir. The interiors had incredibly low ceilings due to the use of linings and the old structure was generally fragmented with little connection to the outdoors. Our design broadened the space and our main guideline was to take down the barriers between the inside and the outside. The choice of materials was significant for the desired concept. Because it is a country house, we opted for natural and rustic materials, such as stone, brick, and wood. We wanted a house that would connect to nature in a light and spontaneous fashion, without competing with the grand view to the reservoir and its green surroundings. The social area was expanded by relocating the kitchen and service areas, which allowed for a connection between an inside patio – which used to be isolated – and a veranda to the reservoir. The brick floor unites the inside and the outside, which are then limited by large sliding metal window frames from floor to ceiling. Everything designed to deconstruct the limits between interior and exterior and give the feeling of being one with the reservoir.
