KITONOKO is a community-oriented complex located in a suburban commercial district, conceived as a place where architecture quietly connects people, work, and everyday life. Surrounded by large-scale retail and roadside developments, the project seeks to introduce a more human-scaled, open, and approachable environment within a typically car-oriented context. Rather than operating as a closed commercial facility, the building encourages local residents, visitors, and staff to naturally intersect through spatial openness and continuity.

This is a project to convert a property with a poor approach into a men's salon on the third floor of a tenant building in an arcade in Naka Ward, Hiroshima City, which is entered from a closed and narrow spiral staircase. By using the poor visibility and approach as a backhand, the shop proposes fashion, art, and lifestyle that only those who arrive here can know. We wondered if we could create a space like a members-only online salon that only you know about and don't want to share with others, making you want to come back again. The name of the shop is derived from the British musician of the same name, The 1975, and I had listened to his albums in the past, so music became a common image source with the client.

When we were commissioned to renovate a newly built condominium for sale, our challenge was to create a space that would make the most of the new and beautiful living environment that was currently fully habitable. During our visits to the site, we observed that while the location, security, and convenience were excellent, the furnishings and other items were a combination of mass-produced, ready-made items. This seemed to us to be a combination that could be considered luxurious, but perhaps not in the way that the client had in mind. We felt that this was where the answer lay this time.

Working with the joint venture selected through the Park–PFI (Park–Private Finance Initiative) program, we formulated a policy of turning the former ballpark site into a place to stimulate activity—a place that creates lively daily activities and stimulates people to go out by shaping an outdoor culture (Osoto Bunka) for enjoying outdoor activities while handing down the deeply marked history of the site to future generations.

Since the new location would be on the first floor and more than double the space, we were asked to design a store that would not only cater to the core vintage clothing enthusiasts of the past, but would also broaden its customer base. When I looked at the items lined up in the space before the relocation, I felt as if they were one-of-a-kind haute couture pieces that, despite being vintage clothing, conveyed the handiwork of careful processing of each item, It had the power to instantly change the concept of vintage clothing that I had felt before, I felt it was necessary to create a space that would convey this impression to visitors.

After considering the area ratio of the two businesses in the limited area of 30 tsubo, the idea of not separating the two businesses equally, but rather having the apparel store as a one-on-one face-to-face sales operation with the apparel store as one of the cutting seats, came to mind. Instead of arranging a variety of designs and sizes as in a regular apparel store, we thought that if we could select clothes based on sharing the customer's taste, sense, and feeling that only a hair stylist can gain from providing long hours of face-to-face service, and if we could create a small store with products selected just for that person, it would be We thought it would be a good idea.

The name of the store was coined from the first and last name of the owner, instead of the seasonal winter word FUYU.
Architecture that intersects time, space, and people in Hiroshima. Hiroshima Andersen “brings joy and happiness to tables” through bread. This is a reconstruction plan for the flagship store in its birthplace. Under the concept of “crossing of time,” we pursued a plan to renew the building while preserving and integrating elements of the bombed former building with modern design. The concept of “crossing of space” is materialized by enabling visitors to encounter the natural environment of Hygge* Park after passing through the bustling arcade town and bakery market reminiscent of Denmark. The “crossing of people” is created by the gate-shaped structure itself that forms the interior. The crossings are represented by cross-shaped pillars. *Hygge: Danish word meaning a warm and cozy feeling arising from human interaction

Flowers / Leaves / Fruits. Flowers, leaves, and fruits are the forms that are created when plants are nurtured by the blessings of the earth and sunlight. Little Witch Lab is a gallery that exhibits the work of Mutsumi Fujimoto, an accessory artist who uses a unique technique to contain that momentary beauty and sublimate it into a permanent beauty that does not change over time, like a jewel worn by a human being. It will be the atelier of Mutsumi Fujimoto and a gallery to exhibit her works. She chose Tokaichi in Naka-ku, Hiroshima City. The building is located where the old Ota River, which flows through the city and leads to Hiroshima Bay, meets the long-established Kusayo Inou Shrine. The location is both dignified and quiet, and the time passes slowly, making it a wonderful place in the city.

The site is located in the corner of a residential complex on a hillside in Hiroshima City and is a subdivision of an old residential land that was sold in two parts, north and south. It was once called Tsukimiyama. It is said that the warlord Taira no Kiyomori used to hold moon-viewing parties there. The mountains of the past are no longer visible, but Kaita Bay and the mountains in the distance remain unchanged. I wanted to create a home that would be like a terrain, where I could feel the environment close at hand and yet develop it to suit my own lifestyle.

I was told that maitre, which had previously renovated the second floor of a building facing an arcade in Hondori, Hiroshima, was also renovating the third floor into a hair salon. When I first visited the third floor, which was originally an eyelash store, I walked up a narrow wooden staircase and saw a large veranda with a garden. When I saw the garden, which had the same volume as the size of one room in the store, I felt an uncomfortable balance in the area ratio between the interior and exterior spaces.
