The English word 'stay', which means 'to continue to be in a place and not leave', has become a noun that replaces the meaning of 'sensuous accommodation' in Korea. The first concern for the project was what makes this market unique between various genres of accommodation such as hotels, motels, inns, and resorts. 'Stay' is a fully furnished single-family house for daily rent for people who dream about living in a house. Since the primary housing market is apartments in Korea, many people dream of building and living in a home or having a weekend house. However, it requires a high investment of time and money. Therefore, the 'stay' market can be an attractive point to fulfill this desire to live in a house. Consumers can choose a variety of weekend houses without going through these processes.

Located on the hillside of Samhoe-ri, Gapyeong, this house is called ‘西景答歌’. The Client of ‘西景答歌’ is a pianist. So, he made a name in resonating with the western landscape with a piano melody. As the name is ‘西景答歌’, an indispensable part of this house is the scenery that can be seen through the large western window. The shape of the mountain ridge that overlaps the Bukhangang River below the mountain is peaceful music. Before designing the house, the Client's request was not to miss the western landscape. The client wants to make the western window bigger, even if the room temperature rises. Thus, we made a large western window and extended the deck and eaves outside the window.

The Ananti Penthouse Seoul sits adjacent to the Ananti Club Seoul in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi-do. It is located in a region densely populated by a 100-year-old pine forest. I focused particularly on taking advantage of the elevation of the slope to suit the brief I was given while ensuring the natural environment was respected. To maximize the benefits of the sloping landscape the mass of terraced housing was created at a setback of 2.4m, syncing with the shape of the land and ensuring that each unit was formed in harmony with the scale of the complex as a whole.

When I visited the triangular site in Cheongpyeong Lake, I felt as if I was floating on the lake. It was like standing on a prow. The whole site was composed of gneiss, giving it an image of hard and solid earth. Inspired by the land, we started the master plan for a unique leisure experience. The site is about 2,500 pyeong (approx 8,264.5m2), largely divided into exterior space, art gallery, restaurant, welcome center, and glamping area. Access circulation is divided into public areas, open to everyone; the art gallery, which is semi-public; and glamping zones, used as private accommodation for guests. Boulders, which consist of rocks that settled down there, were reinterpreted as a platform that overlooks the lake, i.e. an open square.

Cheongpyeong belongs to Gapyeong, located in the northeast of Seoul. It is surrounded by mountains and overlooks the Han River. It is famous for its relaxation and leisure facilities in Natural Forest. There is old Cheongpyeong downtown with Daesong-ri, a sightseeing spot, beside it. It is a popular place for tourists in summer. The client says she spent more than 30 years here. Although Cheongpyeong is not her hometown, she married and came here to raise two daughters and a son, and she wanted to rebuild a house that was as old as her son. It was her son, who was bone and raised here, to build a house to live with his mother in the land his father left.

Among its many types, residential architecture is extremely limited when it comes to experimentation. Who would want to live like a guinea pig in highly private space in which his or her life unfolds? In order to weigh up the singularity of the architecture of a residential building, the search for relationships between spaces could be a better approach than searching for 'newness'.
