This cornerstone is formed by a height accent—the Porseleinen Toren—and a cluster of ground-access houses, collectively forming Porseleinen Hof. By designing both plots in close coordination with each other, a plan is created in which parking, shared car usage, collective rooftop gardens, and the housing program are optimally aligned, resulting in a pleasant and differentiated living environment in the center of Delft. "The sculptural appearance of the tower, clad in the white glazed ceramic material, ensures that the building appears differently from all sides in the streetscape"

From the day Vakwerk Architecten started, they had a clear vision for their future office. Once they stumbled upon an old boiler house, once the main source of energy for the Delft University of Technology, they were set on transforming it into a dynamic co-working space that would form a link between the center of Delft and the university campus. The transformed space was to become an inspiring home for both their own company and local entrepreneurs. Sustainability was the main principle achieved by respecting its industrial character, the reuse of materials, and making the building as energy efficient as possible. The Vakwerkhuis is now a vibrant community, once again buzzing with energy!

From the outset, Mecanoo’s idea was to design a station that makes it clear to visitors that they have arrived in Delft. The station, in combination with the new city hall, sits atop a new train tunnel built in place of the old concrete viaduct that divided the city in two since 1965. Coming up the escalators, the impressive ceiling with the historic map of Delft unfolds. When you look outside, you see the city and the old station as a contemporary version of Johannes Vermeer’s painting 'View of Delft’.

Van Dongen–Kuschuch Architects and Planners has released images for its ‘House of Delft’ mixed-use hub in the Netherlands. Located beside Delft Central Train Station, the scheme will act as a gateway to both the historic city center and the renowned University of Technology. The architectural intent behind the proposal is to celebrate the artistic, scientific and innovative achievements which came from the city throughout its history. As visitors step off the train, it will be both an introduction to the city, and an indicator of what it has to offer.

The Tetra building is the new face of the independent Research Institute Deltares. The institute, which focuses on innovative solutions to Delta problems, was housed on an outdated campus designed in the sixties. Jeanne Dekkers Architectuur tried to find a suiting expression to the changing emphasize of the research of Deltares. New insights into the essence of hydraulic engineering, with more emphasis on the "soft side", the ecology and sustainability, asked for a different architectural language. The Tetra building is the first step in the new masterplan proposed by Jeanne Dekker Architectuur to make the campus future proof.

Introduction:

The Old Library is a design in Renaissance style by architect J.A.W.Vrijman, and built between 1912 and 1915. After a period of vacancy and a major renovation, the monument was given a new destination as training center for the offshore energy industry, thereby preserving the historic building and cultural heritage in the center of Delft. The design and realization of this project were performed by the project team in cooperation with the interior design team. In this document you will find more information about the creation and realization of the design.
