MEMORY — At ZIM, we believe that each house is its own world. With that in mind, we aimed to create a home together with Nico and Cami that they would truly feel as their own, representing them through its architecture. They reached out to us looking for a family home—a place for gathering and movement, but also a space for reflection and prayer as a family. To achieve this, they proposed incorporating natural light as a fundamental element of the house’s design, along with other everyday elements that deeply resonate with them, such as water and the vibrations of music.

Casa FB is located in Costa Esmeralda, a private development on the dunes of the Buenos Aires coast, 390 km from the city of Buenos Aires. The lot features significant elevation changes both transversally and longitudinally, as well as a maritime pine forest at the back, which was a priority to preserve. These site conditions led to a raised house design, supported by a concrete retaining wall that leaves a pathway from the front of the lot to the back, fostering a stronger connection with the landscape.

The project involves designing and constructing a house on the Argentine coast, specifically on a plot with a very particular topography. This terrain features a sand dune, a natural accumulation of sand common in coastal areas. Instead of viewing this dune as an obstacle, the project was based on harnessing this unique feature of the land to our advantage.
