This tropical modern abode stands on 560 m2 corner plot in a townhouse complex, in South Jakarta. Located in a densely populated area and immediately adjacent to a busy road, with no interesting views on its surrounding, were the main challenges for the architect in designing this house. It is the wish of the owner to have a house that has a strong interaction with the natural surrounding environment and natural landscapes, just like a holiday resort.

Located in a residential area in West Jakarta, the project is not supposed to be created as a “pompous”, “arrogant” or "heavy" building. The main solution came by asking and persuading the client about the true needs the house should deal with. With clients who were enthusiastic and collaborated with an intense and constant communication, the value of understanding the need of space is fulfilled. Since breaking down the building into several main masses was not enough to prevent the building to become a heavy block, we use horizontal clear lines to break the scale.

And because of the less of room requirement from the client compare to previously, it leads to create an outdoorspace of the each rooms.
