The Puerta Costanera building is the first stage of a larger mixed-use project located at the intersection of Nueva Costanera and Américo Vespucio, which is also the connection between Américo Vespucio and Bicentenario parks. Taking this into account, both this building and the ones to come are considered as the first commercial floor in order to create a new public space connecting the parks. The built volume responds to the different urban scales in 3 distinct layers: base, body, and top. The base consists of a plinth formed by a ground floor and a commercial basement, completely open to the surrounding sidewalks, in order to enhance the experience of pedestrians, customers, and building residents when entering the lobby. Then, the body of the building stands out by highlighting only 2 elements presented in an honest and unadorned way: structure and skin. The reinforced concrete structure is presented without coatings or paint, taking advantage of the material's plasticity to curve the terraces, giving more movement to the facades. On the other hand, the building's skin consists of a ventilated facade based on panels and movable metal blinds, which together take care of thermal insulation and solar control. Finally, the top of the building is not just a resultant; it was approached as a habitable fifth facade, hiding the technical floor and all its equipment with a large metal ring, visible from a distance and becoming an iconic element within the building's composition.

The topography of the site on which the Loma La Cruz House is emplaced, presents a significant height difference between the street and the front lawn. Such difference was used as a design advantage to create a solemn ascent towards the main entrance raising the ground floor and hence, making the house appear higher than it really is.

The “Único Building” is a group of twelve apartments distributed in eight floors, located in the area of Nueva Costanera. The simplicity of its rectangular volumetry, contrasts with its meticulous envelope treatment, created with the main objetive of obtaining maximum internal confort and control of privacy for its residents, thus avoiding the residents´problem of incorporating elements external to the project itself. For this reason, a second facade was designed independent of the main structure, allowing great thermal confort within enclosed wall areas and a dynamic solar control system and privacy in window areas. As a result, a great stony expression contrast was created with the dynamic perimetral perforated blinds. Continuous metal bands in every floor connect the terraces of the east facade with the envelope of the rest of the volume. These bands also incorporporate the guides that allow the blinds to slide.

About 3 kms from the city center, away from the urban grid, stands the Casino and Hotel Ovalle, founding a citadel in the middle of the valley of the Limarí. As well as the ancient inhabitants of the valley settled to the interior of the gullies; real cracks that striped the central plateau of the valley, this intervention aims to constitute a new gully on this new site. This crack seeks to give refuge through its nooks, which generate a sequence of indoor and outdoor spaces that are hidden from the outside traffic and tracks, favoring the calm and rest.
