Repair/transform an old industrial site
The project aims to bring together all the services of the community of municipalities on one site, as well as the bus terminal for the community. The redevelopment of a former industrial site along the canal is achieved through various means: the creation of an office building extending from the existing technical center, the reintroduction of greenery, the reuse and relocation of old hangars on the plot, and soil decontamination. Transforming this artisanal and commercial area, located in a region in decline, is a current challenge for our territories. It involves initiating an urban and landscape transformation of an outdated commercial area through a contemporary intervention.

A little 150sqm manifesto in favor of short routes and the simple pleasure of materials. The opportunity to embrace the variety and the nuances of the products available to us on a specific territory. The story of the Plainfaing tourist office is firstly about its planning. The agglomeration community of Saint-Die-des-Vosges, wishing to improve its attractiveness to tourists, simply chose to build this new building near a pole of great affluence: the Confiserie des Hautes Vosges, a traditional confectionery. This artisanal “bonbon des Vosges” factory welcomes nearly 250,000 visitors a year, it is one of the first sites in France for "industrial" tourism.

Finished in 2010, the Pompidou Metz center imagined by Shigeru Ban quickly became an architectural icon not only for the city of Metz, but also for the region and even the country. Given the important number of visitors to the Museum and the restaurant, the need for more inside eating space on the terrace soon became apparent. However, the idea of intervening on an existing building does not come without important implications regarding architectural integrity ― the intervention will indeed modify the façaces and volumes of the existing structure.

This project concerns the renovation of a delapidated house, composed of a large living area, a kitchen and a music room on the ground floor and on the first floor, four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Our proposal can be compared to an archaeological dig, as a multitude of contextual interventions interacting with the existing elements.
