In dense suburban environments, the need for privacy often comes into conflict with the desire for openness and natural light. Located in Alam Sutera, Tangerang, this house explores how spatial sequencing can create a sense of retreat without completely isolating itself from its surroundings. The house is conceived through moments of compression and release, where movement, proportion, and light shape the experience of inhabiting the house. From the street, the house presents itself through layered horizontal volumes and deep recesses that soften the transition between exterior and interior. Vegetation is integrated along the facade and upper edges of the building, allowing the architecture to feel more subdued within the residential streetscape. Rather than emphasizing a singular formal gesture, the façade creates depth through shadow, overhangs, and carefully framed openings.

Starting from a desire to blend a unique, tropical, and private sanctuary for a house, comes a dwelling that welcomes the user to indulge in natural elements, both man-made and contextual. O16 is located in a gateless complex with a corner site that overlooks a basketball park and the complex perimeter boundary. The house has a secluded feeling with views and a row of eternal greenery that is provided by the surroundings, thus making the 2nd floor of the house basically undisturbed in terms of views.

Located in an urban setting in crowded Jakarta, with a 99 sqm lot size. The housing environment is surrounded by greenery and big trees that is pretty rare in Jakarta. The corner lot faces northeast and the openings can be opened to these faces and incorporate the view as we bring a resort feeling to this house in the midst of a hectic city. In only a 200 sqm building area, Antelope House is designed attentively to accommodate the client's needs which is pretty a lot, and the studiokian distributed it in 3 stories with interesting spatial space and minimalist aesthetics.

D House is a small house that is built on land of 150 sqm and located in the dense neighborhood of a relatively old complex in West Jakarta. One of the challenges when designing this house is that the road in front of the house is relatively narrow with only approx. 5 meters width, thus making it feel really close to the neighbor across, at the same time, having to meet the client’s need to maximize the building area.
