Project Overview
The project is located in Heilongtan, Renshou County, Meishan City, and is part of an agriculture-themed residential community. The building is situated at the entrance of the community, built against a semi-slope and surrounded by newly planted trees, with a view of an artificial lake in the distance. The site features a blend of natural vegetation and cultivated landscapes, creating a tranquil yet industrious atmosphere suitable for the daily activities of community residents.

The Pu'er Beautiful Star Village Coffee Center is located in the valleys of southern Yunnan, a region blessed with perpetual spring-like weather and recognized as one of China's largest coffee-producing areas. As a key project aimed at revitalizing the local cultural and tourism economy, this building serves not only as a platform for local coffee farmers and coffee culture to exchange and showcase their heritage but also as a unique experiential space for visitors. In this project, we employed three architectural design strategies—tree-like structures, flexible spaces, and folded-plate roofs—to address critical themes such as climate, culture, open spaces, and identity.

The Agronomy Workshop is located on an irregular plot of land in the west, covering about 300m², adjacent to a small pond. Due to the field ridges and roads, there is a long "little tail" of the red line, which will be used as agricultural research laboratory land. The shape of this plot is very special, as the field ridges cut through its interior, further dividing the irregular plot into two halves by the farm roads. Therefore, I thought it would be better to utilize this small road that runs through the area, allowing the building space, surrounding fields, paths, and landscape to become even more "entangled."

The project is located in Penggong Township, Yuhang District, Hangzhou, not far from the world-renowned Jing Shan Temple. The site is situated at the intersection of Penggong Townships settlement and farmland, just a stream to the north from the town street, which is lined with common three-story farmer-built houses and factory zones developed in clusters; to the south lies over 1500 acres of rice fields, where extensive rice field ridges connect and will soon be developed into rice experimental fields and fruit technology greenhouses.

The essence of the countryside is production, and in the planning of the whole village, we attach great importance to the layout of the production space. In 2019, an entrepreneur from Chengdu planned to relocate her factory from the city to Xiaoshi Village, a place with beautiful mountains, to promote the concept of green food. The idea of a "shared factory" was then devised to provide the village and town food craftsmen with the equipment to make their products and the quality control standards and channels to bring them to the market, modernizing the craft and solving the problems of labor and traditional craft heritage.

Former-Country Food Workshop: The cascading eaves on the creek. We were impressed by the height difference of the site, the 5 trees in the courtyard, the bamboo growing on the embankment, the special terrain with the stream in front of the door and the road at the back, as well as the vegetable field houses on the other side of the river. Combined with the needs of the village, we came up with the idea of a "Bacchanal under the eaves", where the main production is tofu, sesame cake, and cold noodles, but also has a shared open production space and display space, incorporating the traditional village fair scene into the open space under the eaves to create a special new experience of the village fair. Because the topography of the site is high along the road side and low near the stream side, the program layout of the whole building is divided according to the production flow and leisure flow, and the main entrance of the whole building is set near the road intersection, keeping a certain distance from the bridge.

Just like other rebuilt villages after the earthquake, XIaoshi Village is facing the same difficulty in reidentifying itself with monotonous residential buildings, simple brick-concrete architecture along the street and hollowing rural community.
