The Ibaté Building, designed by Studio Arthur Casas for the developer Cáucaso, is situated on a corner lot in the Vila Nova Conceição neighborhood of São Paulo – a transitional zone between the city's denser axis and a calm residential urban fabric. This urban condition was fundamental for the implantation decisions and for the relationship of the building with its surroundings, allowing the project to engage with both the vertical scale of the metropolis and the gentler flows of the neighborhood. The design approach, therefore, prioritizes spatial quality and integration with the urban environment, focusing on constructive clarity, conscious use of materiality, and the enhancement of common spaces.

Overlooking the sea, a sand-colored volume mimetically accommodates itself amidst the lush green vegetation, in full integration with nature. Facing the Baleia beach, on São Paulo coast, JD House is the ideal spot for a family composed of a couple and their 4 adult sons to meet each other and rest. The clients, who are used to hosting friends and tend to visit the coast weekly, desired spacious and private environments -- although still connected to the natural surroundings. To achieve this, a large span in the living room was designed, with only one circular pillar at its end, supporting the entire slab and the external cover cantilever. The result brings a great visual permeability inside out: both beach and dense lateral landscaping seem to penetrate the residence, as interior and exterior are well connected. To solve this structural challenge, we designed a large inverted prestressed beam, which also serves as a guardrail for the upper floor suites.

The brazility, so determining for the identity of the brand +55design, also defined the architecture of the store, designed by Arthur Casas and his team. To solidify this intention, cobogós in the façade, monochromatic earthly and green tones, as well as lush greenery composed by native Brazilian species highlight its tropicality and make the store an exhibition space. Therefore, with a neutral and minimalistic scenario, the objects and products gain protagonism. “The project was thought searching for solutions to evidence the furniture, not the architecture”, explains Arthur. To achieve such results, lighting is a great ally – the amorphous opening between ground floor and mezzanine and the glass roofing allow for abundant natural lighting, which brightens spaces and highlights the furniture’s materiality.

The design of this residence at Fazenda Boa Vista seeks to value the surroundings from within. The implantation of the house was a challenge due to the setback restrictions, which make it a narrow and long volume. The creation of interesting proportions, then, arises from volumes with sloping roofs, through differentiated and not perpendicular angles, which frame the landscape and environments in an innovative way.

Located near the office towers of Faria Lima, this 16-storey building has a wide variety of typologies, with 88 units between 25 and 100 square meters. Unprecedented exercise for Studio Arthur Casas, the reduced size of the modules should incorporate values applied to office projects, such as fluidity between spaces and integration with the exterior.

With experienced professionals in industrial constructive systems and entirely dedicated to research in the residential segment for five years, the startup SysHaus finds the solution to ponder factors that within the conventional construction are excluding: fast construction, high technical and esthetic quality and maximum respect towards the environment. Therefore, the Syshaus house, with 200m², reveals a new concept for the contemporary living, in which efficiency, convenience and sustainability are not only ideals, but effective practices. The structural system is composed by unique types of pillars, beams, connections and bolts that, once combined, result in different plan designs and programs, within a three-story limit, for flat or slope terrains.

The interplay of volumes and textures that shapes this building’s facade was the jumping-off point for the conception of the project, located in the Morumbi region of São Paulo. The central issue here was how to take advantage of the lateral view out over the wooded residential neighborhood – facing south – while ensuring radiant natural lighting.
