Urban Requalification of the Colina Sagrada do Senhor do Bonfim / Sotero Arquitetos

The urban requalification of the “Colina Sagrada do Senhor do Bonfim” is a project involving the redesign of one of the most important spaces in the city of Salvador da Bahia. It includes three plazas: Praça Teodósio Rodrigues de Faria, Largo do Bonfim and Praça Eusébio de Matos, reaching 36.050,00 m². The site topography depicts a 22 m high difference between levels, which suggests different uses on each one of them. While on its top-level uses are determined by visitors' religious and cultural manifestations, the lowest ones shelter secular programs, such as retail, services, and leisure.

Marshall Deodoro Square, formerly known as Dourado Wharf, is a public space located in the port area of Salvador that has been listed as a heritage site by IPHAN. Sotero Arquitetos took on the location’s renovation design seeking to preserve its original landscape composition while modernizing the outline of the public equipment.

The coastal landscape, a daily inspiration for Adriano Mascarenhas and Viviane Vieira blends perfectly with their contemporary and timeless style of design. For Casas Concept show, a representative atmosphere of an urban beach getaway was conceive for a cosmopolitan couple who value genuine seacoast beauty. The choice was to privilege materials in a bright space, with pure and light lines, reflecting the Office’s language. The 100sqm space is composed of neutral-colored coverings, woods and fabrics, featuring a combination of the delicate nuances of Limestone Crema Catalunya in brushed finish and Pequi Almond wood flooring, known as Amazon Oak.

The site of 1126 m2 presented for the "Praia Dos Lagos Residence" project has very interesting features. The site can be seen from the lagoon. Land and sea are fused. The slightly hilly topography slopes from the street level almost three meters in height.
