Gwangju Chusajae - The client is a former forensic scientist in the field of dentistry at a nearby university in Gwangju Metropolitan City. Ahead of his retirement, the client wanted to build a house near the university. Building a house in Gwangju after retirement, far from Seoul, where the client's family lives, is an unusual choice. 'Nature and Book' is the key agenda for the client's new house. The site is located at the base of Mudeungsan Mountain and has been in the client’s mind for a long time. Mudeungsan Mountain is named after priceless due to its abundance of nature and size. As an extensive reader, owning 23 thousand books was another reason the client had for a new residence.

Seoripul Tree House - Seochodong, where the site is located, derives its name from the abundance of Seoripul plants. Streams from Umyeonsan Mountain flow around the site, located between the Seoul National University of Education and the Gyeongbu Expressway. In rainy seasons, the town nearby used to get quite foggy. While most Gangnam residences are filled with apartments or complexes, the area near the site is full of single housing, creating a silent atmosphere.

In history, plagues have been both a crisis and an opportunity for humanity. Although they have been painful, we have also earned a dense and healthy foundation for the city. The recent COVID-19 pandemic brought up ecological problems right in front of us, making us recognize the value of urban green. Seoul Forest which is an iconic site in Seoul, changed itself from a horse racing track to an ecological park in the city. 'Ecological Matrix, Breathing Net' is our architectural answer about urban park facilities in the new-normal era after COVID-19.

Narrative Landscape - The Jeju Landscape Plan is a hyponymy of the Narrative Landscape, which is a continuous combination of the environment, facilities, and human activities. While respecting the Jeju landscape plan, the hotel is placed towards Yeryecheon and its scenery instead of leaving the axis from Hanlla Mountain to the ocean as an empty space. Yeryecheon is a stream that begins at Hanlla Mountain, but it hasn’t been recognized for a long time. As you approach closer to Yeryecheon, the vast valley forms breathtaking scenery that overwhelms visitors. In the outer stream next to the hotel, there is a waterfall named 'Eongtto Falls' that only falls loudly after rainfall. Yeryecheon's scenery expands more at higher levels of the hotel. As the view continues from the gates of the hotel to Hanlla Mountain, the hotel seems as if it is floating above an ocean of green. By connecting nature and people, the hotel creates a unitary scenery.

Inwangsan Mountain, Seochon, Wihang literature. Han River and the mountains around grant Seoul a character of its own. Outer mountains surround the exterior of Seoul, and the four gates inside are surrounded by inner mountains again. Inwangsan mountain, which is one of the inner mountains, has a connected story within the old residence between the small streams. While looking up the history of Inwangsan Mountain and Seochon, we learned about Wihang literature written by the middle class of the Chosun dynasty. We noticed the paradox Wihang literature possessed, being able to influence the noble class society era although lower class members wrote it. Unfortunately, the middle class could become a group of intellect but could not escape the limit of their birth-given class.
