As a city rapidly built from reinforced concrete, Shenzhen's spatial experience often exhibits a highly ordered, industrialized character. Oasiz's new store attempts to re-examine the relationship between industrial construction and natural life within this context—not by creating direct contrast or conflict, but by establishing a logic of coexistence within a single spatial system.

Nomadic 5.0, Lotta Cangsong Store Renovation / Ruhaus Studio

Lotta Cangsong Store has operated since 2017 and is one of the earliest boutique street coffee shops in Shenzhen. In 2022, Ruhaus Studio undertook an iterative update of the brand space, continuously exploring the various possibilities of product composition and space over the next six months. In April 2023, due to equipment aging, the renovation of Cangsong Store was suddenly put on the fast track. Lotta, derived from Italian, means "battle," representing the courage and determination of the owner to fight for an unknown life. This extreme renovation is a challenge for us and a result of accumulated efforts based on continuous thinking.

TEA WELL is dedicated to creating innovative space experiences based on pure tea and a unique Oriental aesthetic lifestyle. Whether it's the physical spaces or the products, they convey the founder's passion for and exploration of contemporary Oriental aesthetics. The essence of the brand lies in the acceptance of time. RUHAUS STUDIO has taken on the design of TEA WELL's fifth store, and synchronously reimagined and upgraded the space style to complement the updated product line. Creating spaces in the urban environment that integrate Oriental aesthetics and natural experiences requires us to trace back to the origins of traditional Chinese painting. We strive to rediscover the Eastern way of observing nature that resonates with the Eastern mindset. By bringing this approach into the lives of today's young people, we aim to establish a harmonious connection between space and emotions and reconstruct a better Oriental world that invites exploration.

Abstract Forest. The site locates at Taoyuan Village, which is adjacent to OCT and Tanglang Mountain. It is between Nanshan District and Futian District. Because of the mountain, it has the unique temperament of the coexistence of secular and escapism. Just like the sunlight through the branches spreads on the face, cozy and relaxed but not aggressive. So we set the motif of "Abstract Forest" trying to use "Forest" to reconstruct a "Peach Blossom Garden" that grows naturally in the community. To reduce the burden of decoration on the environment and make the store look like grown here. After a second renovation, we installed the recycled old lumber squares, discarded marbles, and tracks of doors and windows in the space. Try to reduce the additional material pollution caused by the decoration of the new store and retain the time imprint of the old objects.
