Although the new owner lives abroad, he chose not to part with it, feeling a strong attachment to the place he had inherited. Rather than selling, the decision was made to bring the house back into use through ROOVICE's Kariage framework—a system that renovates vacant homes and subleases them, allowing owners to preserve their properties without the burden of managing them. This approach made it possible for the house to be lived in once again, while retaining its identity and history.</p>]]>

The previous location is set to be demolished soon, therefore we had to find an alternative working space for the company. Besides, the studio has been increasing its team lately, making us look for a more generous space. Roovice’s previous office was characterized by a domestic ambiance with particular attention to spaces for employees to relax and rest. We reject the idea of a merely efficient and undistracting workplace: instead, we encourage everyone to take time for themselves and avoid stress at all costs.</p>]]>

The building is placed on a hillside surrounded by nature, resulting in beautiful landscapes in every direction faced at. Before the modernization, the kitchen, living, and Japanese-style rooms were all separated in their own enclosed area. This fragmentation spoiled the efficiency of the surface and created a complicated circulation inside.</p>]]>

It was known and appreciated by the whole community, thanks to its location next to the harbour which provided a daily supply of fresh quality fish and seafood products. It wasn’t a mere spot where to eat it was the gathering place around which the locals of every generation spent their time and created the foundations for the village to build its identity. Unfortunately, though, the restaurant closed several years ago, leaving a void in the town that was seeking a replacement.</p>]]>

We came to think, "we can’t stop a population decline immediately, however, might be able to attract people to visit this area” and then we decided to use a vacant house in Miyagawa-cho which was a southernmost part of <a href="/tag/miura">Miura</a> Peninsula. </p>]]>
