Rubielos de Mora, “the Gate of Aragón”, is located in the southern area of the county of Gudar-Javalambre. When you visit it you understand why it was designated a place of historical and artistic interest in 1980, it received the Europa Nostra Award in 1983 and it was selected one of the “Most Beautiful Villages in Spain” in 2013.
Vernacular architecture in Rubielos displays eaves, iron ttings, woodwork and stonework, providing an old time picture frozen in time. That’s why Rubielos de Mora won’t let you remain unmoved, because the spirit of its poetry, carved in stone and forged in iron, will for ever ask you to come back.

Shelter in the vineyard is located in the municipality of Fontanars, on the outskirts of the urban area, in an area of large areas of cultivation. The project seeks the maximum landscape and environmental integration, due to its border location between a pine forest area and the vineyards of the farm, practically diluted in the vegetation. The decision to develop the whole program in a single plan, in addition to the materiality chosen, which contributes coherent tones with the place, contributes to this.

The House in the Forest is settled in an extensive residential area. A large pine forest on the plot itself is the closest surroundings of the house. On the basis of four stone walls, we generate prismatic volumes that fragment the space, identifying each room. The interstitial area between the parts is covered by an element of wood, which acts as a distributor and connector between the spaces of the house.

The library is a detached building within green surroundings splashed with trees that penetrate into the openings of the building. It is a prism box where the interior fragments with planes that flow between the spaces of the layout of the library. Between two fissures, the building opens to the exterior and allows the interior spaces to reach out to the vegetation that surrounds all of the building.

The house is located in an elevated area, from which it dominates a hillside leading down to the sea. This view marks the direction the walls will take and, in an abstract form, define the project. The house is structured as a compaction of volumes of varying heights, and the form established by the main walls.
