The project addresses a program for a primary residence with a swimming pool and tennis court on the Snarøya Peninsula, in a maritime setting near the city of Oslo. The site is an elongated plot, extending from the adjacent parcel, with very defined zoning regulations. First, due to local regulations, the demolished pre-existing house is taken as the reference distance from the new house to the coast. Second, because of rising sea levels and strong winds, it was decided to elevate the house above sea level.

The project consists of the design and construction of 26 townhouses for weekend use, located in Kvitfjell, a ski resort three hours from Oslo. The site is situated in a small valley at the highest point of the ski resort. This particular location influenced the project by prioritizing the upper floor to ensure better visual integration with the surrounding environment. The goal was to create cross views on both sides: on one side, the morning sun with the peak of Kvitfjell in the background, and on the other, the sunset over the ski slopes.

The project adapts the principles of the earlier building; when the building was in use it was experienced as an open structure with the shutters removed to handle the large dimensions of the lumber. The new building has the same expression of an open structure when in use. The construction system of wooden frames is reinterpreted in the new building, with a layer of glass with shutters that close off the original volume. There is a continuity in the structure with a modern expression and a new range of flexible uses as workshop, event hall, playroom and showroom.
