Located in Shenzhen's Qianhai-Dachan Bay Port Zone, the Tencent Global Headquarters campus comprises five neighborhood blocks. Designed by Perkins&Will, Block 05 West integrates a multi-program set of facilities—Mingwan School (private), Qianwan School (a nine-year public school), a community activity center, and a comprehensive transit hub—responding systematically to the district's combined needs across education, culture, sport, and daily mobility. Under complex program demands, the scheme relies on a clear, concise spatial and massing strategy to form a distinct yet harmoniously interwoven architectural ensemble. As the educational centerpiece of this cluster, Mingwan School was jointly founded by the Chen Yidan Foundation, Tencent, and Shanghai Jingzhi. The school provides full-time education from kindergarten through high school, with boarding options available for senior students. Drawing on deep insights into the future of interdisciplinary, personalized, and practice-based learning, Perkins&Will has designed a forward-thinking, innovative learning community on the vibrant "Penguin Island".

Fermilab, the nation's premier particle physics laboratory, is home to groundbreaking research that advances our understanding of the universe. Spanning 6,800 acres outside of Chicago, Fermilab's campus has long been a hub of discovery, but its researchers and engineers were historically dispersed across multiple facilities. To bring them together and support ongoing particle physics research, including the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment, Fermilab established the Helen Edwards Engineering Research Center (HEERC), named for the late Dr. Helen Edwards, a particle physicist who spent more than 40 years at the lab.

The opening of the new Simon Fraser University (SFU) Stadium marks the realization of a vision that has been part of the university's story since its inception. Originally, the campus master plan envisioned concrete bleachers as part of the athletics precinct; however, those were ultimately cut due to budget constraints. This left the campus without a key community gathering space—until now. While athletic events take place on only about 20 days each year, the vision for the stadium extended beyond game days. The intent was to create an outdoor gathering space that could serve both formal and informal purposes, offering a variety of experiences and encouraging students to engage with the space however they choose.

The design was informed by rigorous shadowing and a unique research and engagement approach, led by hospital leadership, that put the needs of practitioners at the forefront.
China has opened a new performing arts complex in Tongzhou, a historic port on the Grand Canal and the eastern gateway to Beijing. Designed by Perkins&Will’s and Schmidt Hammer Lassen’s combined Shanghai studio with a landscape by SLA, the Beijing Performing Arts Centre anchors Tongzhou’s recently designated cultural district, a collection of major civic projects that also includes a museum, a library, and extensive parklands. Consisting of three world-class venues—an opera house, a theater, and a concert hall—as well as a multipurpose hall and an outdoor stage, the Beijing Performing Arts Centre will host hundreds of performances each year—everything from traditional Chinese and Western operas to orchestral performances, stage dramas, and dances.

The American International School of Guangzhou (AISG) has completed the reconstruction and expansion of its 42-year-old Science Park campus. Designed by Perkins&Will, the new campus is a forward-thinking interdisciplinary space that redefines the future of learning environments. Established in 1981 for the children of American diplomats, AISG was the first school of its kind in southern China and the oldest not-for-profit international school in Guangzhou. The reconstruction and expansion builds upon this legacy. The updated campus offers a variety of spaces that give students a choice in how, when, and where they learn, creating a world-class educational environment that supports different learning styles. “The Master Facilities Plan was intentionally designed with the future of learning in mind,” says AISG school director Kevin Baker. “A redevelopment project across both campuses, Science Park and Ersha Island will transform educational spaces into world-class learning environments.”

Built in 1913, Seattle’s Federal Reserve Bank building acts as a window to the past in a city typically defined by its progressive, forward-thinking culture. When property developer Martin Selig bought the property at a government auction in 2014, he aimed to update it for contemporary use while preserving those historical links. The Seattle studio of Perkins&Will was commissioned to revitalize the iconic stone box with a modern addition and new amenities, a particularly difficult mission given the property’s landmark status.
