The ECoRE Building is a 280,000 SF engineering research and teaching engine at the heart of a new engineering precinct, across the Atherton Street divide, and located at the west terminus of the main campus axis. Funneling activity and flow, the building's formal gesture invites pedestrian connections and pedagogical collaborations between the main campus and the new precinct.

While engineering and the health sciences are not always thought of as sharing natural affinities, combining them in a new building anticipates a world wherein engineers design inventions, like prosthetics, that improve human health, and discoveries in tissue engineering and implants are directly integrated into nursing education and simulation. The Hursey Center is the physical embodiment of that vision, placing student projects and hands-on learning in a central, highly visible location.

As the first new building on the new North Campus science precinct, the Science Research Building provides high technology science research space dedicated to cancer research, regenerative medicine and chemical biology. Two large open lab suites face the river, and are bisected by a three story atrium. Office suites, connected on three levels with a communicating stair, bookend the plan. These three seams of vertical communities within the linear plan enhance collaboration and provide a sense of place for the scientists.

Located at the heart of the NUIG Campus, the new Hardiman Research Building houses next-generation graduate, post-graduate, and faculty library space dedicated to academic research. The heart of the building features two “stackless” reading rooms, designed and furnished to enable individual and collaborative scholarship.

Sited near the decaying mills of Fall River’s industrial past, this computer science building for a leading health informatics software company is part of a new 17-acre campus on the Fall River waterfront. The program called for open office areas, conference and meeting spaces, and a full kitchen and dining area. The design is organized around a south-facing atrium which visually connects the building’s four levels and a continuous curved glass wall facing the water.

The Carl J. Shapiro Science Center on the campus of Brandeis University aims to reconnect a formerly isolated part of campus back to its center. The multiphase project is comprised of the new Science Center attached to the now renovated existing science facilities. Not disimilar to Payette's previously featured Integrated Science Building, This project is also tasked with creating a highly public circulation path through the building to promote interdisciplinary discourse within the field of science and within the greater university.

The new Integrated Science Building on the campus of UMass Amherst was conceived as center for research, technology, and interdisciplinary interaction. Positioned on an important crossroads of campus paths, Payette sought to capitalize on the constant influx of people to the site by rerouting these paths through a large linear atrium space that faces both the campus and the open lab spaces within the building.
