Introduction — The redevelopment of the Jean Dauger sports complex is an integral element in considering Bayonne's green belt. Reclaimed from ground originally used for military manœuvres and occupied by moats at the foot of the ramparts, this green space, with pleasure gardens and open-air sports facilities, has benefited from its historic and cultural status, giving it a sense of significance and protecting it from invasive urban development.

ISALAB is an engineering school focused on the construction and building sectors, in addition to the Montaury campus in Anglet, South-West France. The school's three volumes are arranged from west to east along the eastern edge of the site, opening onto a square and garden designed as a clearing in the Montaury forest.

In northern Bordeaux, the Grand Parc district is made up of slab and tower blocks where the project slips into, aligning or misaligning its edges. The layout uses the existing orthogonal grid to blend the architecture into the urban landscape while providing its singular visibility. Parallel to the old blocks, the two new buildings present a distinct volume and delineate a green agora visible from the passing Tramway to the north.

Right in the heart of the Landes region of France, this hotel installation interacts with a landscaped tableau where human intervention is in dialogue with nature. The first stage of the project consists in transforming the existing lake into a landscape of dunes crowned with slender pines: the dredged sand is heaped up around the edges of the lake in order to create little bays where the bungalows lie. Built in wood, these are characterised by a notably prismatic arrangement which favours openings onto the lake whilst conserving the privacy of the occupants.

In order to design and build architecture that not only responds to its context but also to mans need for function, the careful study of the topography and surrounding vegetation lent itself to the exact placement and setting out of the project where the timber cabins intertwine themselves with the surrounding woods. A study of the site, the views and the sunpath, the underlying desire to avoid any potential overlooking and the idea to hide the residential parking requirements beneath the apartments meant that a sort of visual ‘ordered chaos’ leant itself to the physical disposition, density and juxtaposition of the buildings.
