The Garonne River divides Bordeaux's urban fabric in two, and its right bank has lagged somewhat in terms of its development. With the Bastide-Niel urban development, the city of Bordeaux is aiming to bring the two banks closer together by creating new centers and increasing the density of these spaces.

Sports Complex in Petit-Quevilly / Olgga Architects

The project is located in the Quartier de la Piscine in Petit-Quevilly, south of the Rouen metropolitan area. Situated on a former industrial site, the plot lies at the heart of a fragmented territory, divided by the Sud III expressway, which has long disrupted the urban continuity between the historic center and the eastern neighborhoods. Until recently, the site read as a disparate assemblage: parking areas to the north, an urban boiler house at the center, dispersed public facilities to the south, all enclosed by a series of physical barriers – fences and ball-stops – which accentuated the fragmentation of the space.

In Montévrain, at the heart of the developing eco-district, the stadium is part of an ambitious territorial dynamic, linked to the recent creation of the middle school, the "Montévrain Sport Académie" complex, and the future high school. This new inter-communal facility, comprising an inter-regional athletics track, an approved soccer pitch, a 500-seat grandstand, and a changing room building, is designed to be functional, emblematic, and respectful of its environment. The architectural project is based on a sober, integrated, and landscaped approach, in which the right shapes interact with both the natural and urban setting.
