Background - Vietnam’s capital - Hanoi is a rapidly developing city in all aspects, a representative of the dynamic South-East Asian region. Along with the increasing rate of urbanization, Hanoi is now also home to 8 million residents. Among which, 60% are located in the city's center, which put a tremendous strain on the city, especially regarding housing needs, and employment. This inevitably leads to more and more modern urban highrises appearing in traditional artisan villages in the central areas, creating a cityscape with a mixture of different cultures, and new cultural values replacing the old and traditional.

TH house is located on a narrow land in a very dense area of the capital city of Hanoi. The plot of the house with a size of 4x6m has only a front facade facing a narrow 1.2 m wide aisle. The local district is characterized by an informal arrangement of narrow houses on small plots connected by narrow streets.

Hanoi is the capital city of Vietnam with one of the highest population density, intensive traffic jams, often facing air pollutions, lack of public spaces and greenery but at the same time the city bearing the importance of Vietnamese culture and old traditions. The house is designed for three family generations who wanted to create a harmonious space in the hectic city in order to enhance the traditional family ’s life. The site of the house is a typical plot for long and narrow local tube houses, in the case of CH house - 4,2 m width by 35 m length.

The capital of Vietnam - Hanoi is a fast growing city in all aspects typical for dynamic Southeast Asian region. With increasing urbanization and population, currently approximately 8 million people in Hanoi, the number of high-rise buildings in the city will certainly be significantly growing. The location of the newly designed restaurant is a high density area of high-rise buildings with offices and residential dwellings along with a large number of major roads connecting the neighboring cities.
