We reimagine a 1970s office behemoth as an icon for a new era. Rivierstaete is located in the Rivierenbuurt, in the south of Amsterdam. It’s a neighbourhood that is defined by the Amstel, the river that has played such a huge role in the city’s history, even giving it its name: ‘the dam on the Amstel’.

The building permit for MVSA Architects’ 'Mall of the Netherlands' has officially been approved by the municipality of Leidschendam. Commissioned by Unibail Rodamco, the project entails a renovation and extension of the existing Leidsenhage shopping center, as well as an entirely new interior design.

Rotterdam Centraal Station is one of the most important transport hubs in The Netherlands. With 110,000 passengers a day the public transport terminal has as many travelers as Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. In addition to the European network of the High Speed Train (HST), Rotterdam Centraal is also connected to the light rail system, RandstadRail. With the advent of both the HST and RandstadRail the number of daily travelers at Rotterdam Centraal is expected to increase to approximately 323,000 by 2025.

The ING Group’s head office stands on a long, narrow site beside the southern section of Amsterdam’s A10 ring road. Bounded on one side by the South Axis business district and on the other by the green zone around the Nieuwe Meer (New Lake), the building maintains a low profile on the side facing the greenery, with a cantilevered section occupied by the auditorium, and rises up on the city side.

Jumbo and Wärtsilä have their core business in the industry. The maritime character of the two companies was a key starting point for the project. The two companies are housed in a pair of separate buildings above a shared parking level. The buildings share a common design vocabulary, focused on the views over the water and the activity of the harbour area.
