Moke Architects has designed a wooden house in Muiden together with la4sale. The living/working house of the two founders of the la4sale landscape agency had to have a 'landscape' appearance based on the nature of the residents. The house has a visible wooden construction, pergolas, views and a greenhouse on the roof. The house designed by Gianni Cito and the partners of la4sale is located directly behind the dike of the IJmeer, in the new residential area near Amsterdam. The residents wanted a house where they could enjoy the view, but also have the necessary privacy. The house is divided into a front and rear house offset from each other; an idea suggested by the residents.

Primary school De Wereldburger in Amsterdam is giving its building a new lease of life. ‘The school, which opened in 1965, decided not to construct a new building but to reuse the old concrete frame and supplement it with a wooden frame,’ says architect Gianni Cito. He designed a circular and near-energy neutral building that feels like a palace for learning and playing.

On the periphery of a nondescript residential area in Groningen, Gianni Cito designed a large building for two schools, two childcare centres and a playground. From the outset, the end users played an important role in this project, engaging in regular dialogue with the architect during workshops. One of the significant outcomes was the proposal to share out-of-school care facilities, play rooms, gym, kitchen, staff room, science classroom and the playground.

The site of NDSM Nieuwdok site is a former ship dock area at the waterfront of Amsterdam Noord in the Netherlands. The area is currently largely derelict and used by early adapters, like Greenpeace, Red Bull and MTV. The remaining monumental industrial buildings allocate small creative businesses and workshops, while new bars and hip festivals indicate the potential attraction of the area. They are signs of what is about to happen, as in the coming years the area will be transformed into a diverse urban area, with housing, office space, hotels and the like, all with a staggering density. Surrounded by the IJ River and some remaining docks, the water has a strong impact on the site and provides beautiful views.

The project was obtained through a competition. The architect is Gianni Cito. At the time of the competition entry and the building design he was co-founder and architect of Dok Architecten. The site supervision he did as partner of Moke Architecten, a young and rapidly growing firm for architecture and urbanism in Amsterdam. With this growing group of 8 architects/urbanist/interior architects Moke is involved in school designs, large inner city housing schemes, the renovation and extension of a museum, two shopping centers and urban plans.
