This apartment, located on the 5th floor of a Haussmannian building in the 8th arrondissement, originally followed a classic layout of the time, with rooms arranged in succession along the façades and connected by a long interior corridor.

Facing the Château de Versailles, in the former King's Stables, the National School of Architecture of Versailles welcomes more than 1200 students each year. Due to changes in teaching methods and the deteriorating condition of the premises, the administration decided to carry out a complete renovation of part of the school: its workshops. The site, partially occupied and heritage-listed, required a fast intervention, which led the design process towards a synthetic approach.

The project takes place in an ancient farmhouse located in the Morvan region, partially renovated twenty years ago. The intervention consists of restoring a second part of the existing building, while both preserving the authenticity of the old building and being consistent with the first contemporary intervention.
