On the narrow plot, surrounded by villas and large trees, the elongated residential building integrates the walls of the existing house. The split levels of the existing building are being reinterpreted and zone the ground floor: There are various floor offsets that create different spatial impressions.

The dilapidated three-sided courtyard, consisting of four buildings formerly used as a residential house, workshop with a pigsty, barn, and remise, is located in rural Hainau. It was built by its namesake Wendenius at the end of the 18th century. The concept for the ensemble was quickly determined, the buildings were brought back to life through extensive renovation and converted into a holiday home with an event barn.

The “White House“ is part of an architectural ensemble of two residential buildings, located in the “Waldvillenviertel“, a popular suburban district in the city of Mainz. Besides the admissible building density, a sloped roof shape was one of the building requirements on the plot. The layout of the house enables a pleasant usage of the garden and takes care of the existing vegetation with its oaks and pine-trees and regards the existing site topography.

The “Black House” is part of an architectural ensemble of two residential buildings, located in a popular suburban uptown district in the city of Mainz. The admissible building density and the sloped roof shape were building requirements on the plot. The slim layout of the house enables a pleasant and generous use of the garden and totally respects the existing vegetation with its impressive old oaks and pine-trees.
