Sa_Yu, located on a hilly site in Kure City, Hiroshima, is an architectural project that redefines the very notion of dwelling by overlapping two temporal layers — renovation and extension. Beginning with the renovation of a 70-year-old wooden one-story house and followed by the addition of a new community wing at the rear of the site, the project evolves from a private home into an architecture of relationships — where people, spaces, and time are gently intertwined.

This is a project to convert a property with a poor approach into a men's salon on the third floor of a tenant building in an arcade in Naka Ward, Hiroshima City, which is entered from a closed and narrow spiral staircase. By using the poor visibility and approach as a backhand, the shop proposes fashion, art, and lifestyle that only those who arrive here can know. We wondered if we could create a space like a members-only online salon that only you know about and don't want to share with others, making you want to come back again. The name of the shop is derived from the British musician of the same name, The 1975, and I had listened to his albums in the past, so music became a common image source with the client.

When we were commissioned to renovate a newly built condominium for sale, our challenge was to create a space that would make the most of the new and beautiful living environment that was currently fully habitable. During our visits to the site, we observed that while the location, security, and convenience were excellent, the furnishings and other items were a combination of mass-produced, ready-made items. This seemed to us to be a combination that could be considered luxurious, but perhaps not in the way that the client had in mind. We felt that this was where the answer lay this time.

Since the new location would be on the first floor and more than double the space, we were asked to design a store that would not only cater to the core vintage clothing enthusiasts of the past, but would also broaden its customer base. When I looked at the items lined up in the space before the relocation, I felt as if they were one-of-a-kind haute couture pieces that, despite being vintage clothing, conveyed the handiwork of careful processing of each item, It had the power to instantly change the concept of vintage clothing that I had felt before, I felt it was necessary to create a space that would convey this impression to visitors.

This is a complex of a hair salon and an apparel store that connects fashion and beauty. After considering the area ratio of the two businesses in the limited area of 30 tsubo, the idea of not separating the two businesses equally, but rather having the apparel store as a one-on-one face-to-face sales operation with the apparel store as one of the cutting seats, came to mind. Instead of arranging a variety of designs and sizes as in a regular apparel store, we thought that if we could select clothes based on sharing the customer's taste, sense, and feeling that only a hair stylist can gain from providing long hours of face-to-face service, and if we could create a small store with products selected just for that person, it would be We thought it would be a good idea.

The name of the store was coined from the first and last name of the owner, instead of the seasonal winter word FUYU. When I visited the site for the first time and heard the name and meaning of the store from the owner, I was surprised by his view of the world and thought that FUYU could be a way to break away from the mundane and conventional. I felt there was a possibility that I could create a space with a different approach.

Flowers / Leaves / Fruits. Flowers, leaves, and fruits are the forms that are created when plants are nurtured by the blessings of the earth and sunlight. Little Witch Lab is a gallery that exhibits the work of Mutsumi Fujimoto, an accessory artist who uses a unique technique to contain that momentary beauty and sublimate it into a permanent beauty that does not change over time, like a jewel worn by a human being. It will be the atelier of Mutsumi Fujimoto and a gallery to exhibit her works. She chose Tokaichi in Naka-ku, Hiroshima City. The building is located where the old Ota River, which flows through the city and leads to Hiroshima Bay, meets the long-established Kusayo Inou Shrine. The location is both dignified and quiet, and the time passes slowly, making it a wonderful place in the city.

While the purpose of a gallery can change from time to time, the space needs to be strong enough to prevent noise from interfering with the artworks and objects and to provide a balanced view of the works on display. In this project, however, the future direction of the works to be exhibited will be determined by the location of Kurashiki's Bikan Historical Quarter and the site that will be created in the future. In other words, we thought that the space itself must be the first work in this gallery. However, if the work or its individuality were to stand out, the impression and stereotypes of what would be placed in the gallery would become stronger. The gallery needs to look as if it has always been there and has an individuality that can only be born here.

Located in Kurose-cho, Higashihiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture. The project is the renovation of the direct sales office of Kanemitsu Sake Brewery, which has been in business since 1898.
The color specialty store specializes in coloring among hair salons, and its main menu is gray hair dye and retouching of the hairline. Customers are looking for a cheap and easy way to get their hair colored, so it is essential to have quality, cheapness, and speed. For these reasons, we thought it would be necessary to mechanize the design itself in a systematic way.

I took the elevator up to the fifth floor from the back street of a tenant building facing the arcade on Hondori in Hiroshima City. The first time I saw the skeleton of the building after the demolition of the existing store, I was struck by the view, which was completely different from the view on the ground.
