Located in São José do Rio Pardo, in the countryside of São Paulo, MM House is a 630-square-meter, single-story residence designed by Equipe Lamas for a couple who wished to live close to their daughters and grandchildren, who were already settled in the same gated community. The brief was clear: a cozy, single-story living experience with a timber structure, ceramic tile roof, and full accessibility.

Nestled among the forested hills of the countryside of São Paulo, Fazenda Pinheiro demonstrates how architecture can evolve in dialogue with time. Built in the 1980s as a farmhouse, the residence was restored by Equipe Lamas with the purpose of reclaiming its essence and adapting its spaces to a contemporary way of living, while strengthening the bond between architecture and landscape.

This simple house is implanted as a flower in the arid landscape of the Cerrado Biome, the Brazilian savannah. A couple seeking tranquility and connection with nature commissioned this urban refuge located 15 minutes from the center of Brasilia. The 2000 m2 plot made it possible to spread 375 m2 of construction through the land. Its volumetry consists of four loose volumes, drawn on a mesh of square modules and rotated around an uncovered internal courtyard, through which the volumes are interconnected.

Originally thought to be a place of meeting and rest, the Tea House designed by Oscar Niemeyer at Praça dos tres poderes Square was one of the busiest points in Brasilia in the '70s and '80s. The semi-buried construction with 250 m2 near the Planalto Palace in Brasilia, was a scene of festivities in the capital. Political interference and lack of tenant were responsible for the end of the meetings and for the consequent abandonment. In 1994, the space became a Tourist Assistance Center (CAT), which was open for six years but closed because of the risk of the roof collapsing.
