Designing a house studio for a painter is nothing new for our office. In fact, we feel especially comfortable with this type of project. Even more so if it is the home of the famous artist Paco Pomet, a surrealist painter who depicts scenes with a fine sense of humor and which Banksy himself set for his Dismaland exhibition.

A distribution scheme has been developed that allows you to maximize the relationship with your own outdoor space, the kitchen area will have a direct relationship with the front yard, the living area located on a higher level, will be turned over to the backyard, and the basement, usually low-skilled, will have a patio that will give natural light and ventilation, while qualifying the entrance.

This is a XVIII century building. The old headquarters of the “Monte de Piedad” de Granada. It was like a Public Pawn shop. The amazing situation (just in front of the Alhambra), the public scale of the spaces and its configuration made this project a special one. We have tried to keep its atmosphere and propose a new language that improve to the existing building.

The house has a very relevant situation inside the city of Granada, located in the join between "Paseo del Salón" and "Paseo de la Bomba". The position, between common walls, but at the same time like a separated object, because the adjoining plots have their free space towards our boundary, make our building into a urban referent.

The apartment is in the corner on the last floor of a sixties building. It is a sunny flat but with a conventional layout : a large “L” shaped corridor giving access to the living-room and four bedrooms (all towards the façade) and the kitchen and two bathrooms (towards the patio).
