Being an extension house project of the previously designed house by DP+HS Architects, this was a notable project due to its strong presence and unique brief. The clients wanted a tailored home that was sumptuous yet subdued, having the quality of outdoor activity yet enclosed and a private atmosphere. Due to its nature as an extension house, the program is quite straightforward: a collection of rooms to support the activity of the main house, which are a swimming pool, sauna, lounge, playing room, and basketball court.

Situated on the far end corner of the gated community housing area in Jakarta, the site was unique compared to the other sites within the same area. It was surrounded by a green open area, giving the site a very natural view outside, with a lot of trees and a relatively calm corner of the housing complex. The brief of the project is to make space for a young family, with a lot of possibilities to place specific kinds of objects around the house because of the owners’ interest in distinctive contemporary art objects. The initial idea is to take this notable interest seriously to be incorporated into the overall spaces and architecture.

This house is located in a residential area in Jakarta, Indonesia. It occupies a 337,5 sqm plot of land. In contrast to the houses surrounding this project, which mostly adapted to Mediterranean style, this house is an attempt by Don Pieto & Henny Suwardi of DP+HS Architects to represent the younger generation’s taste which more keen into the natural and tropical modern atmosphere.

Located in a residential area in West Jakarta, Indonesia, this house occupies a 300 sqm plot of land. Inhabited by a small young family with 2 kids, it was made with careful attention to owner’s family activities during the course of the day. Don Pieto and Henny Suwardi of DP+HS Architects emphasize interlocking space to connect different activities between spaces.

Located in a residential area in North Jakarta, Indonesia, the 600 sqm house occupies a 440 sqm plot of land. This project’s site is facing a main road on the west side, and an alley on the other side (south side). We noticed that this site, particularly the one facing the main road, has a considerably large building line. And we are aware that the building line will decrease the building's size. Based on that observation, we attempt to locate the main door on the side which facing the alley (south side); thus allowing the reduced area in the west side, to be utilized as an open-space gathering place. The open-space gathering place itself is an extension of the main living room that is purposely designed to be slightly away from the main door to keep it private.
