An existing house is repurposed into a new communal home for Houm Yoga and Houm Coffee. The project begins with a simple approach: working with what is already there while introducing only the necessary interventions. Rather than fully transforming the building, the design focuses on balancing control and restraint—deciding which elements require careful redefinition and which can remain untouched. In this process, the architecture accepts the existing structure as it is, allowing the new program to settle naturally within it.

Hygge Cafe / Dhanie & Sal

The renovation of the Hygge Cafe pavilion focuses on making the most of the existing structure while introducing new materials and design elements to give it a new identity. The circular shape of the pavilion, which is its most striking feature, has been emphasized through the use of marble tilework that wraps around the exterior.

Mawi Garage is a renovation project of an existing pavilion that acts as a parking area for the owner's daily vehicles, and some of his collection consists of a fleet of off-road vehicles and arrays of motorcycles. An additional loft that will serve as a private office and living quarters for the client is also added during the process.

In the middle of a busy sprawl in Southern Jakarta, HK Residence lies on a narrow yet long plot of land. Formed as a series of introverted boxes, its exterior is adorned with textured plaster that is left unfinished, mindful of the changes that time will bring. In contrast, the interior is clad with white, instilling a sense of calmness into the house.

Sawo Rontgen occupies the front yard of an existing house in a residential area with a strong tie to medical facilities. Searching for a unique identity for the second home of Sawo Coffee, we took the location’s rontgen street name as an identity generator and play around with the visual quality of rontgen.
